The Mt. St. Helens Club is southwest Washington’s oldest & favorite
outing club. Currently with 100 members & growing, the club
schedules hikes (almost) every Monday and (almost) every Saturday
year round. During the winter, hikes are often replaced by x-country
skiing & snowshoeing. Other outdoor activities include biking,
camping, canoeing and picnicking.
Monday hikes are Easy to Moderate: (3 to 7 miles & less than 1000 elevation)
Saturday hikes are Moderate to Difficult (5 to 12 miles & over 1000 elevation).
To learn more, access the website: mtsthelensclub.org
Once looking at the website press the “Events” tab, then select the
outing you want to begin your experience with this great group of
people. If you have questions about this event, just phone the leader.
If you get an answering machine, leave a message & expect a call back.
Runners and walkers meet each Saturday for an hour of exercise followed by coffee. Location varies each week, check website for details.

Joint Heirs Day Adventures is a specialized service that provides day and overnight outings for those 18 and over with developmental disabilities. Our staff is dedicated, caring, licensed, and certified. Our purpose is to provide quality, specialized, alternative recreation and leisure opportunities in an atmosphere where all can be happy and accepted - no matter what their capacities or limitations may be.
Our goal is that all persons attending our programs feel respected and important and that this will result in higher self esteem and enhanced quality of life. We feel that our program, when utilized as respite, will become a welcome addition to our clients routines as well as to their parents or care givers and that it will be used as a means to compliment the lives of all concerned.
We offer outings 2-3 times a month and special events throughout the year. We require that participants register and provide background and emergency information prior to any outings. This is not a drop in program as space is limited. Although we have a bus, our trips fill up fast and we recommend that you call first for seat availability. Please call for more information and to be placed on our mailing list that will include quarterly mailings of flyers. References are available.
